Well, I have almost all my cloth diapers and covers sold - that took forever! Whatever is left is going back into a rubbermaid bucket and stored for the *maybe* in the future.
I loved using the cloth diapers this time! I am really going to miss it - thought about using them anyway, now that the bulk of them is gone - BUT my diaper sprayer was one of the first things to go - thinking God knew that I would go back if I still had the sprayer... NOT when it's gone. That was a life-saver to me when dealing with the *yuker-do*
Why'd I quit if I loved it so much? I tend to jump in with both feet when I do something... The cloth diapers were taking too much time away from other pursuits - namely, school. With our hard water, each diaper load went thru the washer 3! times - every night - and our dryer is going out and they'd take at least 2hrs to dry... ugh!!
Jared wants to learn to read - is ready - and I need to buckle down. It's hard to be a homeschool mom, sometimes. If you think putting on a good church face can be hard - try a good homeschool mom face! All the books - all the seminars - all the support groups - cannot turn our homes into the perfect homeschool. Life just happens and we have to find a way to work around and thru it to teach our kids what is necessary for life. I want to get excited about showing Jared all about God's great world - and so, for me, I need to get rid of whatever else is more exciting to me right now - diapers. Sounds weird, eh?
Focus and balance. Seems that's like a lifetime purpose. All things under the direction of God and His Word. Freedom and peace are found in the mix. I can't believe the relief I feel that those cloth diapers are gone - so strange when it was something I enjoyed. Application: just because we like it, it might not be what God wants us to focus on at the moment. Doesn't make cloth diapers wrong in themselves - pretty good thing if you want to *go green* - but what if the business of the *good* thing keeps us from the purpose of God in our lives - oooh, scary! Don't want to stand before my Lord one day and say... but, but, but... not a good thing.
We'll see where this blog takes me - don't know. Depends on the balance and focus for the rest of my life...
